ONE TRADESPERSON. THREE CREDENTIALS. ONE CITY.

Lawrence Kessler runs Wind Rose Mechanical out of Regina, Saskatchewan. He is a Red Seal plumber, a Red Seal gas fitter, and a C-NRPP certified radon specialist — three credentials that, stacked together, no other mechanical contractor in Regina holds. The Red Seal is Canada's interprovincial trade endorsement: a full apprenticeship plus a national exam, issued only after both. C-NRPP is the radon credential Health Canada points to for compliant testing and mitigation work in Canadian homes.

The rest of the story is on the tools. Lawrence has decades of certified trade and construction experience in Regina and southern Saskatchewan — boilers in basements when it's thirty below, hydronic manifolds in commercial buildings, radon mitigation pipe stacks against prairie exteriors, gas-line work on residential and commercial appliances, sump pump installs, commercial plumbing in tenant improvements. The same hands sign for all of it.

That matters in Regina because Regina is, by Health Canada's own survey numbers, the highest-radon city in Canada. About half of homes in the city test above the 200 Bq/m³ action level. The boiler season runs six months. The basements that hold the boilers also hold the radon, and the gas lines that feed the boilers run past both. One trade who knows all of it — and who carries the certifications to legally sign for all of it — is rarer in this city than the math suggests it should be.

Wind Rose is the one shop that put the credentials together. That's the whole pitch. The rest is just the work.

C-NRPP Certified Radon Specialist

C-NRPP — Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program. The national credential issued by the Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists in partnership with the Canadian Radon Proficiency Program. Required by Health Canada for radon mitigation work to be considered compliant with national protocol. Authorizes Wind Rose to perform long-term radon testing, design sub-slab depressurization systems, install mitigation hardware, and verify post-mitigation levels.

Red Seal Plumber

Red Seal Plumber — the Interprovincial Red Seal Program endorsement on a journeyman plumber's trade card. Issued only after a full apprenticeship (4 years / 7,200+ hours) and a national exam administered to common standards across all provinces and territories. The trade card is portable: a Red Seal plumber in Saskatchewan is recognized as a Red Seal plumber anywhere in Canada. Authorizes Wind Rose to install and service mechanical plumbing systems end-to-end.

Red Seal

Red Seal Gas Fitter

Red Seal Gas Fitter — the same Interprovincial Red Seal standard applied to the natural-gas trade. Issued after an apprenticeship and a national exam specific to gas-fitting scope. Combined with the Red Seal plumbing endorsement, this is what makes Wind Rose's boiler-install, gas-fitting, and hydronic-system work doable in-house: no subcontractor on the gas side of a heating job, no separate trade required to land a permit.

ONE TRADESPERSON. ONE JOB TICKET.

Most contractors in Regina sit on one side of the mechanical-versus-radon line. Sask Air, Regina Radon Solutions, Master Radon, and Dr. Radon are radon-only shops — they cannot replace the boiler when it fails the same week the radon test results come back. Full-stack HVAC shops cannot legally call themselves radon specialists because none of them hold the C-NRPP credential. Wind Rose sits in the intersection: a Red Seal mechanical contractor who is also C-NRPP certified. That means one trade can size your mitigation system, install your boiler, run a gas line for it, and sign off on the commercial plumbing in the same building — without a single subcontract. In a city where roughly half of homes have a documented radon problem and where the heating season runs six months, that combination matters.
