BOILERS AND HYDRONIC HEATING.

Steam, hydronic, residential and commercial — by Red Seal plumbers and gas fitters.

Overview

Wind Rose specializes in both steam and hydronic heating, optimally trained and experienced in residential, commercial, and process/manufacturing systems. The heating side of the business is what the brand name points to — mechanical work, by a Red Seal trade. Focused on thoroughness and attention to detail, Wind Rose works to optimize operation and efficiency in both home and business heating systems.

The scope is end-to-end: boiler servicing on existing equipment, full boiler installations and replacements, hydronic loop design and installation, steam-system service, expansion-tank work, combustion analysis, and gas-fitting on the supply side of any boiler job. Because Wind Rose holds the Red Seal gas fitter credential alongside the Red Seal plumber endorsement, the gas connection is in-house — not subcontracted to a separate trade.

In Regina, a working boiler is non-optional for six months of the year. Wind Rose works on residential boilers (single-family hydronic and steam systems), commercial boilers (multi-unit and tenant-improvement scope), and process/manufacturing systems (industrial heating loops for refineries, agri-processing, and light industrial). Same trade, three audiences.

RED SEAL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BOILER.

A boiler install is a plumbing job and a gas-fitting job in the same room. Most contractors hold one credential and subcontract the other. Wind Rose holds both — Red Seal plumber and Red Seal gas fitter — which means one named trade signs for the water, the gas, and the combustion. No coordination tax, no scheduling drag, no surprises at inspection.

Red Seal plumber + Red Seal gas fitter = legally authorized for the full boiler install end-to-end. Both credentials, one trade.

The Process

01

Assessment

Site visit to confirm the existing system (if any), sizing requirements, fuel type, venting path, and code constraints for the install location.

BTU sizing on-site

02

Design & Quote

Specify the boiler, the loop layout (for hydronic), the expansion tank and circulator, the venting, and the gas-supply work. Quoted as a single line item — not split between trades.

One quote, end-to-end

03

Install

Remove the old unit, install and pipe the new boiler, run the hydronic loop or steam piping, complete the gas connection, vent the combustion air, and commission the system.

Same-trade install

04

Commission & Verify

Combustion analysis, balance the loop, set the controls, and walk the homeowner or building manager through the system. Service log started on day one.

Frequently asked

Do you service the boilers you install — and the ones you didn't?

+

Both. Wind Rose services boilers and hydronic systems from any installer, brand, or vintage — service work is the day-to-day on the heating side. New installs come with a service log; existing systems can be added to it.

How long does a boiler last in a Regina home?

+

A well-maintained residential boiler typically runs 15–25 years before replacement. Steam systems often run longer; high-efficiency condensing boilers tend toward the shorter end. Annual service is the single biggest factor that decides where in the range a given boiler lands.

Hydronic vs forced-air — which is better for Regina?

+

Both work, but hydronic systems tend to deliver more even heat in long Regina winters, run quieter, and can be zoned room-by-room without ductwork. Forced-air is easier to retrofit into a home built for it. Wind Rose works on hydronic and steam — the heating side of the brand is named after them — and can advise on whether a hydronic conversion makes sense for a specific home.

Do you do commercial and process heating, or just residential?

+

Both. Wind Rose is trained and experienced in residential, commercial, and process/manufacturing systems. The commercial track covers tenant improvements, multi-unit boiler rooms, building mechanical inspections, and process-heating loops for industrial accounts. See the Commercial page for the B2B service scope.

How much does a boiler installation cost in Regina?

+

A residential boiler replacement in a typical Regina home starts around $7,500 for a standard high-efficiency unit, including the unit, the install, the gas-fitting, and the commissioning. The number changes with boiler size (BTU), efficiency tier, hydronic loop work, and venting requirements. See the Pricing page for the full breakdown.

Do you handle the gas line for the boiler too?

+

Yes. Wind Rose holds the Red Seal gas fitter credential alongside the Red Seal plumber endorsement. The gas connection on a boiler install is in-house — not subcontracted.
